The characters are important; Scout as the cheeky little scrapper is amusing, Atticus as an average man attempting to make the best choice remarkable. Having heard it cited so regularly I expected incredible dialog, what astounded me was her authority at inspiring time and place, I ventured back to youth in a little around 30's Southern town.
