The road was lonely..no sounds except the occasional humming of insects i never knew.Tried looking for an end on this seamless road..the sky too looked overpoweringly gloomy..hardly any stars in vision.The dark canvas of the night only helped worsen my hapless state.And imaginations take a flight when there is nothing better to occupy me...chaotic silence that stole away any peace..how i wish i would find at least one soul to talk to..They say ’be sure of what u ask for,coz u may get it’...


Did i actually hear something? Dont look behind,dont stop,dont look behind..thud..dash..there it was..coming closer..i wanted to scream,but my voice just filled away my mind n refused to leave me.I wanted to do ANYTHING that could take me away from it..Its cold glance froze my vision..there was nothing i could do..nothing..it was over..i had to fall into what destiny had ordained for me.Pushing me right into it.."Werent u the one who said ’I have nothing to do with this thing’?" the painfully-cheery voice called out..I recognized it..The gas-stove of my kitchen.


Cooking is a delicately balanced art which requires the correct co-ordination between the mind and body..to be able to cook what u have imagined and to be able to imagine what u have cooked will be like.It requires the perfect amount of perfection,right level of dedication,a will to succeed  inspite of all odds,to dodge the barriers of taste n fear n to make it reach someone’s mouth.


There are several easy to cook items available these days,but what they fail to understand is that it still requires us to enter that forbidden territory.It still calls for that grit n determination.So my tips to people who are as moronic as me:


Atmosphere: Set the correct ambience which keep all evil thoughts at bay.

Company : Anyone who can shut up n watch the mess going on as it is.Keep those ’neat kitchen-tasty food,cooking is just so much fun-why cant u do it’  types about a mile away from you,lest you do have potentially lethal equipments in hand.

Weapons : whatever cutlery needs to be used.

Courage : The intermittent smells n colours should not bewilder u..look only at the final product.

Actors : Someone who can manage an encouraging smile after eating your fare,that cud even be your pet.

So basically,be strong n take the experience in your stride..tough times never last but tough people do,take that challenge n get into it..who knows,it might turn out to be distantly edible..n take heart from our cricket team,there’s always the next time..since 1983..
