I seldom get a chance to stay in a hotel ,but as I also work in the same industry ,I have some tips on how to get discounted rates while you stay in a hotel and also enjoy your trip to the fullest at the same time.

1-Depending upon the Season:-First of all,if you are planning to stay in a hotel(Star category or Non-star category) during the season time,you should always remember that during this time most of the hotels throughout the world remain booked and therefore,there are very rare chances of getting discount in any way,unless and untill you  are a very big personality.
Hence,when the season is low and all the hotels search for their customers,you can enjoy the bargaining of rates and in most cases,you will get success in getting lower rates than the fixed  hotel standard rates.

2-Number of People:-Secondly, as the number of people increases or the size of the group grows in terms of people,you can have a better chance to get discounted rates as the hotel will never like to reduce it’s revenue just because of the decreased rate and  that too in such a competetive market.

3-Depending upon the Rapport with the hotel:-Thirdly,if you make a booking through a travel agent and that particular agency is the regular customer of the hotel and usually bring lots of guests,you may get a good oppotunity to get lower rates as compared to when you book through a new or unknown agency or directly,without the involvement of other party.

4-Depending upon the Relationship with the hotel owner:-Fouthly,if you are in a close contact of the hotel owner or any of its high designated member,you again have a very bright chances of getting good rates to stay ,apart from some extra attention given to you.

5-Number of Stays:Fifthly,if you are a regular customer to the hotel and staying in the same hotel for years ,then you need not to worry at all,as the hotel knows how to make its repeatedly coming customer happy by offering good rates,services,facilities and attention.

6-Make a Complain regarding your last stay:-Sixthly,its a very tactful trick to use.So,only those who are expert in complaing about everything and then coming back again to stay in the same hotel ,are requestd to follow this small piece of advice.More chances are that you may get some services complimentary or may get them on discounted or less rate.
