This review outlines the sequence of activities that I went through while I wanted to transfer my vehicle from Hyderabad to Bangalore.

Information from RTO: Compounding fine collection centre at Nampally(Hyd)

I need to write a mail to the Director of RTO stating my willingness to transfer the vehicle from Hyderabad to Bangalore. Signature of owner(my wife in this case) is a must. Otherwise authorization letter should do. This is to get a clearance certificate from RTO.

Information from Crime branch: near to the Compounding fine collection centre at Nampally(Hyd)

I need to write a mail to the Director of Crime branch requesting transfer of vehicle to another state. Photocopy of RC and ID card is a must along with the presence of the owner of the vehicle while submitting the application form. The clearance form should be available in 2 working days.

NOC from hypothetical Bank:(In my case its SBI, I must say that they were very polite to talk)

If you want to get NOC from Bank and transfer the vehicle: Documents required by the Bank: Photocopy of RC, Photocopy of Insurance, Photocopy of Offer letter & a letter stating that you have been working in ABC Company since XYZ. In general a offer letter would work, however if the owner has moved long before without taking the vehicle along with him/her then this is a must. 6 post dated cheques Process: Form 28 to be collected from RTA and duly filled and signed by the Owner. There are multiple pages in Form 28. 6 post dated cheques to be submitted along with the form Request letter for change of location and transfer of loan account from Owner All documents signed by the owner, authorisation not acceptable Hyderabad Bank to seek approval from the Bangalore Bank branch(probably you have to specify to which branch you want to transfer) to accept the change of loan account location. Once Bangalore branch accepts and send back the documents to Hyd Bank, then Bank hyderabad will release NOC. This entire process might take 2-4 months in all, only to get a NOC from Bank. No of days you need to keep for the process: 1 day for police clearance, RTO clearance and Bank clearance 1 day for RTO office for final NOC doc. Should be after 3-4 days after the above days. If we close the account Documents required: Form 35 duly filled and signed by the owner If the owner is away, then an authentication letter stating the same Photocopy of RC Photocopy of Insurance Process: Deposit cheque for residual amount of loan in any Bank branch(Should be from the same bank). Once the cheque is cleared(typically 3-4 WD, if the issuing bank branch is in the same city), visit loan disbursing bank branch and get a account closure certificate. Submit the account closure certificate and a copy of RC to the Loan Bank Main branch. The NOC will be issued within a day. This NOC will have to be submitted to the RTA for a new RC card. The current registration card has Bank as the hypothicator mentioned on it. You need to check with the RTA, on how many days does it take for a new RC and if owners presence is required in processing it. Shall keep updating it as and when I encounter the fun of this process! No of days you need to take leave for the process: 1 day for police clearance, RTO clearance and SBI clearance 1 day for RTO office for final NOC doc. Should be after 3-4 days after the above leave.
