Should we convert high end vechicle to LPG?
Mar 04, 2011 07:40 PM 37569 Views

I was a fan of petrol and every since I remember I always had a petrol car. I have used maruti's, hundai and now I own an honda accord - 6 cylinder. I love the car. it is really the best of all I owned . Of late I am feeling the pinch of the ever rising petrol cost and the cost of maintenance for my car.

I even thought of selling it and going for a mileage car. My car's mileage is around 4.5 km in the city. I though of going for a skoda, then one of my relative who owns an optra suggested me to go for LPG. I was little apprehensive about it as I loved the power I got from my 6 cylinders.  But the increasing fuel prices tempted me to go for it.

As recommended by my relative I went to the same place in Koramangala(Bangalore) where he has fixed the kit. The guy in the garage me a full gyan of all the technologies which was going bouncers over me. He advised me to go with some vapour sequential injection system costing around Rs 60000 . The guy also offered me a 30 day  money back guarantee in case I was not happy. I  just went by his confidence .

The whole process took around 2 days.  It is now almost 8 months since I fixed the kit. And I must say I have delayed my decision. It is good. the mileage in LPG is around 4 km but I save because of the cost of LPG. so far everything looks fine. I don't know what honda guys have to say about it but I send my car for service a month ago and it looks like it is ok with them.

So guys if you have a fuel thirsty car at home may be you can consider LPG as a option. But please check with your company and friends who might have more information about it. After all this is the first car I have done.
