My long awaited family trip to Europe materialized this June. I am writing here about my post-departure experience and more importantly to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Surjeet Kumar, our tour manager for the Europe tour with Thomas Cook. I would say his management skills and friendly behavior made our experience extremely memorable. Surjeet was friendly, entertaining, fun, engaging and extremely accommodating. He became a constant source of knowledge and information given his wisdom not only about the socio-cultural and economic history of various cities of Europe we visited, but also their contemporary issues and popular culture. He also engaged us with various gaming and quiz activities and rewarded us with souvenirs while we toured in the bus from one place to another, making the trip even more pleasurable for everyone in the group.
Surjeet was always full of energy and cheerful. He would go out of his way and ensure each one of us in the group had a great time. For instance, he accommodated our request and took us to places which weren’t the part of our itinerary, like, he gave us a surprise stop over at Zurich(it was my sister’s birthday and we couldn’t have asked for more), organized special taxi to take us visit the Eiffel Tower simmering late night and he also accepted our request to visit the Frankfurt old town, despite a long journey from Switzerland to Germany. On the days of optional tour he would sit late night to discuss and plan special itinerary for families who wanted to plan something different for the day like he did for us in Paris. While we opted not to visit Disneyland he guided us how to enjoy the day with a tour of the city enabling us see the beautiful Opera, Gallery Lafayette, Louvre Museum, National Assembly and the Notre Dam. His help, be it in sickness, traveling or trekking will always be remembered by us in true sense of humanity. All his little gestures during the course of our trip are well appreciated.
His sense of hospitality, care and generosity was evident right from Day-1 through the last day until it was time to say ‘Adios’. It evoked liveliness in us and helped create memories that will be cherished forever. The only reason, I can think of opting for a tour package again from Thomas Cook is Mr. Surjeet Kumar.
All the very best to him.
Cheers!
