On 23-11-2016, I booked for "Extravagant Hong Kong 7N/8D(winter special)" and by 4-1-2017 I paid Rs 30000.00+Rs 87563+Rs 77575.00+Rs 77575.00= Rs 272713.00
But on 30-1-2017, I was informed that "Extravagant Hong Kong 7n/8d" tour got cancelled for lack of numbers and I was given the option of choosing "Hong Kong Surprise" package, which I did after a few days, and the cost of this package would be around Rs 204000.00. I was also told that the extra money that I paid will be refunded within 10 days. I got an email saying that only around Rs 46000 will be refunded. I came back from the vacation and it is 3rd March but I am still waiting for the refund.
The worst part is that when you book a Thomas cook vacation online some guy from Mumbai will call asking for the Rs amount and then he is gone, some other guy from Kolkata will call to collect the dollar amount then he is gone. After repeatedly calling them some other guy will email you the tickets and other travel documents just a day or two before the vacation starts. And if you call back the land line numbers from which they call they usually do not pick up or reply your email.
In may case they send me a travel document mentioning that I am supposed to wait at the arrival hall of the Hong Kong Airport, which I along with my wife and infant daughter did for more than three hours, but non one came to pick us up. Finally I had to catch a taxi(350 HKD) to the pier and catch another ferry(641 HKD) to Macau to reach the hotel. The people in the phone that booked my vacation were clueless that once you clear the immigration you cannot go back and catch the ferry to macau directly from the HK airport. It was terrible and my baby was hungry tired. Before leaving India I called the Mumbai guy and he did not pick up the phone so I called the 1800 number and I was still told to wait at the arrival hall of Hong Kong airport.
