Vijay and Ramana's Thirumalai!. Review on Thirumalai Movie

I watched Thirumalai (though on video but a certainly better one!!). I was impressed by the movie and enjoyed it. I have read really bad review of it and I feel why is it given such bad reviews becoz it was not bad at all. It was really good to me and Vijay has given an outstanding performance in the movie! He dances well, he acts well, his comedy is great, etc etc. He's a very good performer who can carry any movie on his own shoulders! though in this movie, he is not the only one doing the job.. Vidyasagar has done a superb job with the music as ''Thaam thakka'' and ''Dhimsu Kattai'' stand out as the best! The other songs fit in well with the movie! Ramana has made a very well debut to tamil movie direction! If he gives more importance to the story in his future movies, a really good director in the making!

The story was nothing new. The usual masala story. But some scenes were handled well by the director, infusing interest in watching them. This movie was certainly better than the dark, disturbing and violent Pithamagan! Everyone talk of Pitamagan having a good story. But what use of it when it is not that good watching?? The movie had a lot of violence. This movie strictly did not have violence and was entertaining. The heroine, Jyothika did her job well. By the way, in movies like this, heroine do not have much role! She matches well with Thalapathy 'Vijay'.

Some scenes needed to be explained well.. And the mistakes were there. Had the director paid more attention to them, the movie would have been a bigger hit than it is now! I heard it is running consistently well in Chennai cinemas! Hope it continues it run and ends up bigger than most movies released this year Diwali! On the whole, a great boost for Vijay's career. He had been giving flops. Thirumalai is a turn around for him which I think he'd utilise well!
