Periyar Lake : By far the best have seen. Review on Thekkady

Been to this place in Oct-07, this place was a part of Kerala trip, which included Allaphey, Kumarokam, Kochi(Kerala being such a small state, most of the places are near by). Of all the places we travelled in Kerala, I loved Thekkady most. Though we could only spend 1 day, we had a great time.

Things I loved about this place

1. Periyar Lake, its one of the biggest lakes have seen so far, unpolluted, 11/2 boat ride makes you feel like you are on a holiday enjoying the cool weather.

   
   




2. Periyar forest : Its big, lot of greenery have not explored this much

   
   




3. I am sure there is much to explore here, we could not owing to time limitations.

   
   

Though there are not many places around other than above. Still I would say its a great place to spend couple of days.

Though do not have much information about hotels & resorts, but looks to have some good places to stay.

To summarize

1. Not many places to go around like any other hill station, but whatever is there is best

   
   




2. Not costly, not much exploited(natural)
