Well! the most eagerly anticipated and expected movie is finally out and I, just like hundreds of others, was curious and waiting for the release - especially after having read the phenomenally popular

and aclaimed book.

I just saw the movie with my friends at PVR Bangalore, and the decision to go with friends, instead of family, actually worked well - because knowing my family - no one would have lapped up the movie because of the following reasons:

- the content itself is "a grey line and plays with the man’s basic belief"
- the visual representation could have been graphic (though! it didn’t turn out to be that)

Anywyas! coming to the film - Having read th
The Da Vinci Code

e book, I knew what exactly to expect from the movie and with the teaming of Ron Howard, Akiva Goldsman and Tom Hanks - my expectations jsut soared!

The film - to Ron Howard’s and Akiva Goldsman’s credit - has been simplified immensly to make the comprehension easy. It touches upon all the crucial aspects of the book without making the proceedings too technical and therefore, boring for Indian audiences.

Right from initial reels, the film hits the viewer and impacts him - primarily because of the execution and background score and of course the performances (more on that later!)

The scripting is simple and brilliant - in one word. The cinematography is splendid and it is not only because the way Louvre has been captured, but also the tension has been built through lighting and camera movements.

The background score -as mentioned earlier - heightens the impact manifolds... Apart from this - the sound effects go a long way in creating the required jerks!

Coming to performances - Tom Hanks has once again displayed why he his considered a perfect actor - he has brought Robert Langdon to life... The facial expressions convey everything - helplessness, tesion, uneasiness, shock and confidence... The man just adds that required sheen and polish to Robert’s character.

Sophie is good as Sophie Neveu. Jean Reno is phenomenal...

The movie is a triumph for the entire team esp. Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsman...

The movie has sparked off a debate... Be a part of it is what I would say rather than running from it...

Way to go!!
