Wow! I knew when I saw the promos of the film itself that I am going to love the film.

And even if a little late in the day, I loved the film.

IT is quite rare when a film is based on

a book it works both ways. The film has made the book immortal and vice versa.

Hence it is not shocking that after the release of the film, the book sales have gone up even further.

The beauty of the film is that it has been shot on real locations. Hence giving it a larger than life feel.

I usually enjoying reading much more because with the written word, it is your imagination that runs wild.

But with this film, the director’s visual interpretation superceeds yours completely.

Needless to say I was completley bowled.

Tom Hanks is a wonderful actor and has for years been becoming the character he plays. Not once does he remind you of Tom Hanks from another film. He is this character and lives up to perfection even in The Da Vinci Code.

Amelie (Audrey Tautou) on the other hand, was a great choice for the film too.

Well, I call her Amelie because when I saw that french film, I could not imagine her in any other role.

Everything about the film is perfect.

Coming to the controversy around the film, the fact that it has been banned from screening in several parts in our country and world over itself, only brings forth the theory that is mentioned in the film.

For centuries if the Church has been trying so hard to keep a secret, the current generation is trying to do the same too.

It says that it is a work of fiction and a well researched one at that.

Why is religion always accompanied by fanaticism?

And like everything else I am certain that religion too is not devoid of politics.

Well the book or the film based on the book is a beautiful work of fiction and if someone wants to buy into that theory, I think it is an individual choice.

The fact that certain people want to hold it back is because they believe there is more truth in that than the others...
