Preeti Shenoy is a popular writer in India. I have read all of her books and every time I fail to understand how her books manage to be bestsellers.
The Secret Wish List is about a young girl Diksha whose life changes due to the crush she had on a boy during school. She got married at the tender age of 19 and after fifteen years of marriage, she realized that she has to get out it.
I bought this book as it seemed to be a quick read and interesting one at that but it was an utter disappointment. The story is highly predictable and a quite unrealistic one too! The protagonist Diksha who is 35 years of age and has a nine years old son acts rather immature according to her age. She feels trapped in her marriage due to lack of communication yet makes no attempt to bridge the gap or amend the situation. As soon as her ex-boyfriend appears on the horizon, she immediately starts an affair with him.
The book is rather boring and repetitive. I won't recommend it to anyone as it's just a waste of time.
