Story:

The Power of Habit is a book written by Charles Duhigg in which he uses research in order to explain how habits are changed and formed.Habits are quickly formed by doing something enough which is explained in the book by research on memory loss.A part of brain is responsible for storing the habits and remaining part of the brain can function better due to the common actions stored in that section.A person with loss of short term memory will be relatively functional due to habits storage before memory loss. The book is split into three sections indicating habits as Personal, Corporate and Societal. It begins with anecdotes of people who changed their destructive habits.A habit which is a repetitive behavior can be conscious or unconscious. It is said that 40% of what we do is habitual.Formation and repetition of behaviours to become habits result as Cue, behaviour and reward. For bad habit removal, a new routine is required between the cue and reward. The book emphasizes the importance of family or friends for a change of habit and is full of examples including lessons, anecdotes, case studies so that one can change destructive habits with constructive ones by knowing the reward.
