This is a long pending review for The Karighars. The details would follow after this but the short summary is - If you are looking for a personalized interior designer who brings in the right balance of your personal choices and usual standards, 'The Karighars' is the name for you!
We started thinking about our home interiors almost the same time we booked a flat in DSR Sunrise Towers during construction phase:) By the time brick work was done, we had a fair sense of our likes and dislikes and we had also collected sample pictures for items we liked, for wardrobes, kitchen layout, TV units, beds etc. We started looking for someone who could help us refine our ideas and execute them with best quality without too much of personal supervision.
When we started our search, the general feeling was that hiring an interior decorator is going to be much costlier and somehow thought that just having a general idea of our likes for every unit is house is sufficient and if we get a good carpenter the work is done. Now when we look back, we can see clearly how wrong we were. We were really lucky to have gone with the Karighars, who helped us shape our ideas over time, gave crucial feedback about the layout and design without which we probably would have needed a complete rework in certain cases(like our Kitchen) resulting into both a waste of time and money. They provided the complete interior solution, from design to implementation for all kind of Civil, carpentry, electrical and plumbing work and make the house look like a home with a theme.
We had met a few carpenters initially and soon we realized its not going to flow as none of them even cared to listen carefully to what we want and wanted to finalize the layout, design and materials in first 2 meetings itself. We then shortlisted few interior decorators based on their popularity and vicinity to our place. After having a meeting with 2-3 decorators, we finally met Mr Vinayak in our flat and we liked him from the very first meeting. He took a detailed look at the layout of the house, listened to us carefully and based on that he showed us some sample pictures which he thought we may like and he was spot on with his analysis. The meeting went really well and he later sent high level estimates for the work items based on our requirements and his suggestions. We decided to go with them and did the booking.
After the booking, we had meetings for finalizing the designs for the items one by one, some of which happened at our flat where he helped us visualize the space constraints properly by providing the bigger unified picture and also helped us with the illustrations for the items we needed. These discussions helped us shape our ideas, and what we liked is he would always give preference to our taste and also give suggestions for modifications and alternatives. Some of them were very crucial, our kitchen layout was little tricky based on our requirements and the floor plan but he suggested some civil changes and a layout which made it look really spacious and neat. We had similar space constraints in few other places too but Vinayak's innovative ideas helped us solve all of those issues.
Once the designs were almost finalized, they started the implementation and we never really had to supervise their work afterwards. Vinayak's execution team members are also very nice and approachable. Vinayak would always update us whenever there was material delivery, if we needed to take a look but we never really had any issues with anything during the entire execution phase. He would also send regular updates on whatsapp/email whenever we were not able to make it to the site. He in-fact allowed us to make some changes in the design in later phase also if it was possible, which was quite nice. When we do interiors for our house, we will always have some ambiguity in choices and we get a better picture as project starts shaping up. It happened with us too and Vinayak was really helpful and supportive of such changes also.
They also helped us plan and execute the soft furnishing for the house. Vinayak would always assist us in making our final choices too. We have troubled him a lot but he was always there when we needed his help in our choices of lights, wallpapers, curtains, handles etc. He also made sure that the delivery is taken care of by his team once we finalize our choices, which believe us is a great help.
There post-execution service also has been great. After moving in, Vinayak used to call us regularly to check for any issues. He sent his team to our flat after one month to do a check and fix any small issues that we have on his own after asking us for a suitable time which was really nice. The entire project was completed in November last year, however he is still in touch with us. He is a very passionate person who loves his work and is very easy going. We didn't just get a good interior decorator but have also found a good friend in him. We wish him every success in life!
