The Bible has been a spiritual guide for the Christians for ages and ages. The Bible falls in two sections- the Old Testament and The New Testament. The two sections are further sub-divided into a number of books. The former, the bulkier off the two, consists of thirty-nine books, and the latter, of twenty- seven. Thus, in all, the Bible comprises of sixty six books. The Old T stament tells the story of the creation, the ancient history of man, and the vicissitudes of the Jews, "The Chosen People of God" and also includs the Prohecy of the further arrival of the Messiah( the deliver), who would deliver th mankind through his own sacrifice. The New Testament is new, in a way, representation of the prophecy.
The Bible contains writings of the following kinds:
Lyrical, Prophetic, Narrative and Didactic.
The Bible is not written in verse but the use of marked cadences, effective and frequent repetition and telling rhythm has lent it a kind of poetic beauty. The religious importance of the Bible is supreme and needs no mention. It enshrines for Christians all over the world, the prophets. But its importance is not only of the religious kind; it is, rather all, -embracing.
