BIBLE - THE Book. Review on The Holy Bible

The Bible is also called The Word of God. It is actually not one book, but a collection of 66 books, written over a period of over 1000 years by at least 40 authors from 3 continents, in 3 languages.(Dan Brown's anti-Bible book was written only by 1 author, in may a 1-2 years and only in 1 language.)

This Book deals with God's promises to reward us if we obey Him. It tells us how man, through his sins, has distanced himself from God and invited trouble. The good news is that in spite of our sins, God is merciful. He is "slow to anger" and quick to forgive, if we confess our sins to Him and repent(change our behaviour). Whether you take the case of Adam and Eve in Genesis, or King David in 1 Samuel, or even Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross, God, in His boundless mercy and grace, welcomes us back to Himself, if we are humble to admit our mistakes. **The Bible gives countless such examples of God fulfilling the promises He made.

The Bible was not written for Christians or Jews alone. It was written for all human beings - literate and illiterate(it can be read out to them). That's because among all beings with a physical body, only man has sinned against God. Therefore, only man needed God's plan of salvation. The Bible says that we are all sinners: "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"(Romans 3:23) and so we all need salvation, to avoid going to hell after we die. So whether you are a Hindu, Muslim, Jew, Christian, Sikh etc., you need the Bible. **The Bible is God's blueprint for our Salvation and a roadmap for the journey of life.

I have read the Bible cover to cover except many Psalms. I have read many portions of the book several times. I recommend using The Open Bible or The Thomson Chain Reference Bible. They cost you a few hundred rupees but they are for life! If you cannot afford this amount, you can contact Gideon's International for a FREE Copy of the Bible in ANY language of you choice. The Bible has been translated into 4027 languages, so that should not be a problem! There are many versions of the Bible available in English, but I suggest reading theNew King James Version(NKJV) **, the King James Version(KJV) or the New International Version(NIV).
