Great Escape is a water park which is situated at Virar on the outskirts of Mumbai city. This is a great place if you need to go and hangout somewhere for a day.
COST
Per head, the entry fee is Rs. 300/- but if you are a big group (say over 8) you may also get a discount. We were 11 of us and paid 275/- per head.
WHAT TO DO:
WATER SLIDES
The water slides are a must even if you are over 50 years of age. There is no better experience than the gush of air and water splashing at your feet as you whoosh through the slides and glide into the water.
But its advisible not to take your kids (younger than 3) on it and especially so if they cannot swim because they are likely to hurt themselves and choke on the water.
GAME ROOMS:
Though not very elaborate, the gaming rooms provide with some fun games like the cars and coin games.
FOOD:
The resort includes all food and drink and if you get hungry, just hop out of the pool for a piping hot vada freshly made in front of you. Round it up with some candy floss. Jump back into the pool.
CHILL OUT:
If you are tired of the slides (and I bet u will be after a while), just chill out on the benches under the cool palm trees. We had gone this weekend when the weather was beautiful and the clouds were so low, you could touch them. The resort is surrounded by mountains and looks so beautiful.
Remember:
Toilets: Ok...but make sure to carry your own toilet paper and soap.
Bathrooms: Ok. too but carry lots of plastic bags with you to keep the wet clothes in.
Best time to go:
Since it is a largely open place, the best time to visit it is the monsoons. It was wonderful and green the time we went there, but in any case since it is a water park, the rest of the year is fine too since you are in any case going to cool off. But let me warn you, you'll get awfully tanned.
Best place to go:
- If you just wanna chill out with your best pals or office crowd
- If you want to take your family to a place where the women can just let go of them selves without any imhibitions.
Value for money:
10/10.
300 bucks is just about nothing nowadays. You get a meal out of that much and here u get a lot more. Just the experience of the water slides is worth that much.
