I vividly remember reading the Enid Blyton series of the Famous Five as a teenager. I used to love the adventure and suspense these books used to create. This particular series has a total of 21 books and I loved reading each one of them!
The plot: Each story has the five companions Julian, Dick, Anne, Georgina and their dog Timmy as the main characters. These children come together for summer holidays every year from their boarding school. While playing around and exploring their village or a neighbouring town, different shady things crop up that they begin to investigate. How the five tackle different situations and how their adventures lead them to different culprits is how the story folows.
The stories are all different from one another, and totally grips the reader's attention. Each time the five embark on a different adventure, so the stories revolve around different neighbourhoods.
I particularly love how the writer divulges even the minutest of details to the reader, so as to make it easy for the reader to imagine.
The writing is easy to follow and not many complicated words are used, so a perfect read for a teenager.
Last Word: Loved all the books of this series. Definitely recommended for teenagers!
