Took my mother to Coimbatore Eye foundation, as she was complaining of watery eyes.
The hospital was nearly empty and she was called in for the checkup without much wait.
The lady who did her eye vision test was amazing. Polite and friendly with me and my mother.
After the check up, she dilated my mother's eyes and asked us to wait for for about 40 minutes.
My mother was called in to see Dr Srinivas Rao and thats were we were gobsmacked to see his attitude and approach. He just said that theres is some infection in her right eye and prescribed eye drops. when questioned about the nature and severity of the infection, he became intolerant and started to pounce on us.
His stand was, if there was something serious, he would have told us and y are we asking if theres nothing to worry. He expected us to just nod our heads for his prescription and leave his room. I strongly believe that myself and my mother has all the right to know about what is happening in her eyes and the severity of the infection. This can be gained only with the information from the doctor and Dr Srinivas Rao has absolutely no patience, tolerance or respect towards his patient or their family.
He ranted for around 7-10 mins. Wouldn't listen to what I'm asking on behalf of my mother and with so much disbelief and shock we had to leave his room.
I'm a confident woman. If this rogue Dr has managed to bring me down, I just cant stop wondering what will be the case of illiterate patients and their families.
