Gurcharan Das has produced a thoughtful commentary on dharma in the Mahabharata. Superbly readable, Das pulls the reader into his work, and the pages keep turning. Each chapter is devoted to a separate character, and the wide ranging discussion shows how questions of dharma resonate in today's issues as well.
The book is a perspective of The Mahabharata. For someone who has not read the Mahabharata, it is an eyeopener regarding the various Characters and the scenes that were part of the Epic. Especially the way he describes the Yudhisthira's Character was awesome, as a kid growing up I never understood the importance of that Character, I was more fancied by the characters Arjuna, Krishna and Duryodhana.
It also relates the epic with the challenges we as Human Beings face in our day to day life.
