Another epic movie from Tom Hanks and Emma Watson! This movie is to know about how the humans can fulfill their potentiality. The movie starts with some incidents which Mae Holland(Emma Watson) could not describe by the reality. All of a sudden, she takes the decision to join in a research in her job. Her boss Tom Hanks, the founder of the company where she works, encouraged her to join in that experiment in where her real world problems were identified. Then, something very odd starts to happen. Every decision she made during the experiment, those started to impact on the people and society surrounding her.
In the experiment, she was informed that there is a circle around every human being which allow them to solve every problem of their life. Mae was told that with the help of that circle humans can cure disease or even can end hunger. But, to do so, they have shared their secrets. Starting with herself, she was given some tiny cameras which were invented by the research company. Mae planted those in all corners of her apartment; even she has to wear those while she was out to bring total transparency and integration in her life to join in the circle.
There are many people in the world who are interested about peoples’ personal lives. Like Eamon in the movie, these people have interests on those which enable them to sell new products and to resell personal information to third parties. To attract the idea in the movie, ‘The Circle’ presents some incidents which make the viewers believe on it. Whenever these people started to take on Mae, the Circle reacted.
The plot of the movie is quite fascinating. It attracts the viewers to stick on the movie till the end. But, the idea of human perfectibility and human rights were not fully described in the movie. The viewers also did not found the best performance of Emma Watson. This backwardness of the movie was overcome by the strong presence of Tom Hanks. The screenplay of the movie is also very thought-generating, specially, when it shows the dark sides of modern technologies. For instance, how the colleagues in the company exchange instant messages under one roof even though they had the opportunity to converse each-other.
The film tries to make the viewers to observe the similarity between the social and professional lives. They can understand how surveillance and the personal realization of being watched can change a person’s behavior positively. Though the long dialogue in the movie sometimes has drown the viewers into a camouflage of distraction.
Overall, the movie should be welcomed for its new idea.
