Here comes winter... and what comes with winter? No, unfortunately not snow! I'm in a part of the world where the only flakes one sees in this season are dandruff flakes. So every winter, I'd experiment with different shampoos until I hit upon the one that suited me best, The Body Shop's Anti Dandruff Ginger Shampoo. Made in UK, this is slightly more expensive than most shampoos and not that easily available, but it's totally worth the price and effort!

The Body Shop's Ginger Shampoo is a natural product with infusions of ginger root, birch bark, white willow and oak moss. It's mild enough for frequent use and lathers up pretty quickly. For best results lather it in from the roots to the tips and leave it on for a minute or two, before rinsing it off thoroughly. Follow this up with a conditioner, like The Body Shop's Brazil Nut Conditioner or Garnier's Ultra Doux Wheatgerm conditioner.

This anti-dandruff shampoo works best on mild cases of dandruff... and leaves your hair shiny, smooth, and smelling good enough to eat! The first time I tried it, I kept sniffing my hair and daydreaming about gingerbread cookies. If you have severe dandruff problems, go for a medicated shampoo like Johnson & Johnson's Nizoral, it's much stronger and more effective. I'd steer clear of other off-the-shelf shampoos, their harsh chemicals might clear your dandruff... but I'm pretty sure they'd do more harm than good! If you don't have dandruff problems at all, ever... well, lucky you! (As an aside, I hate you!)

If you give this shampoo a try and don't like it, I'd suggest Biotique's Margosa Leaf Shampoo, which is also for dealing with dandruff, although this doesn't smell as good, it is very effective on getting rid of dandruff and keeping it gone! The one thing I really love about The Body Shop and Biotique, other than their terrific products, is that they're against animal testing!
