Story:

Hergé's Adventures of Tintin is the first animated television series based on Hergé's popular comic book series, The Adventures of Tintin. The series was produced by Belvision and first aired in 1957.

After two books were adapted in black and white, eight books were then adapted in colour, each serialized into a set of five-minute episodes, with 103 episodes produced (twelve in black and white and ninety-one in colour).

The series was directed by Ray Goossens and written by comic artist Greg, who later became editor of Tintin magazine. It was produced by Raymond Leblanc, who launched Belvision and Tintin magazine.

These books have kept me in touch with my childhood.I go crazy over Captain Haddock and his thousands of blistering barnacles. And Bianca Castafiore, the Opera singer who call him everything except Captain Haddock.

And those bumbling detective twins the Thompson Twins are simply great.Snowy is very endearing because of his dilemmas over bones. And how can I forget Professor Cuthbert Calculus? The man who never hears anything right?

Recently I read that China has finally allowed the legal export of Tintin books into their country. How awful.Imagine so many Chinese children missing out on a vital treat of their lives for all these years.Unfortunately Herge expired many years back and the last Tintin book was The Blue Lotus.

Now the sleeping giant in me has awakened again.I am once again going to go into my revision mode and start going after these books with a vengeance.

May I suggest something? You will find it positively crazy. Leave your personal copies of the Tintin books in your will to your grandchildren and theirs after them. God knows whether the books will be around at that time or not.
