Movie Terminator 3

The Plot
(source: screenit.com)
Nearly a decade after the human resistance movement of the future sent a reprogrammed
cyborg, the Terminator (ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER), to protect their future savior and leader, their machine foes have now sent a more advanced terminator unit, the T-X (KRISTANNA LOKEN) to kill John Connor (NICK STAHL). An android that looks like an anatomically correct woman, the T-X can assume the shape of anything she touches and control any machine, and has been programmed to kill John and various other future lieutenants, such as veterinarian Kate Brewster (CLAIRE DANES).

The resistance, howev

er, has again sent one of the older terminator units (ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER) back in time to the present to protect John and Kate from the T-X. As the pending nuclear Armageddon approaches, John and Kate, with the help of the Terminator, try to avoid the repeated attacks of the T-X unit and race to save humanity.

My Review
As my review title reads, and let me repeat that again - what a disappointing comeback for our Arnie-tor!

Okay, I admit that the action & special effects are impressive but did they endear to the Terminator fans? Honestly, I liked the stuff in the prequels T-2 (Terminator 2) & T-1 (Terminator 1) better.

And where is that music we love? The music they played in T-2 when our Arnold ’Arnie’ Schwarzeneggar comes out of the pub ready to take on the world? T-3 is filled with annoying silence from start to end.

Our Arnie also did not get an opportunity to mouth too many cool dialogues - another disappointment.
They also could have put some innovation into the redundant plot. Arnie’s presence and action alone cannot make a movie worthy

Talking about performances
, Arnie looked old but acted well. It’s admirable to see him maintain that awesome built of his. Kristanna Loken as the evil Terminator did a good job. But Nick Stahl and Claire Danes came up with a lacklustre performance. They looked somewhat unenthusiastic adding to the overall dull effect of the movie.

Anyway, like it’s predecessors, T-3 never forgets to remind subtly to it’s viewers about the destructive mentality of humans and how we will face a Armageddon if we do not wipe the nuclear grin off our faces
!

So, do I recommend this movie? Ya, in some ways. Those who have not watched T-1 or T-2 will find this to be a good action flick. But those who have will be disappointed like me.

I wish James Cameron directed this movie too.
I hear a T-4 is coming up. If that’s true, Cameron should come forward to wield the baton but it looks like T-3 director Jonathan Mostow will direct this one too. I understand the pressure to match the success of the prequels is too much. He better come up with a great job or else I will terminate my interest to watch T-4 :)
Best of luck!

Director
- Jonathan Mostow
Year of release - 2003
Starring - Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Kristanna Loken, Nick Stahl, Claire Danes

My verdict - Good action but don’t expect the magic of the previous Terminator movies.
