The love story of 3 eras, ‘Teri Meri Kahani’, a Kunal Kohli Production, seems to be a tribute to 100 years of Indian Cinema. Every person who has ever fallen in love can relate to the story of the film. The acting of Priyanka and Shahid on reel life appears to be their real life love story.
1960 Mumbai – Priyanka Chopra is a successful actress who falls in love with an aspiring musician who wants to make it big in the film industry. Prachi Desai is Priyanka’s best friend who is Shahid Kapoor’s neighbour. Both the girls fall in love with the aspiring musician. It a love-triangle. When the reality comes face-to-face with the three of them in a party, the lovers, Priyanka and Shahid get separated. The vibes of Prachi interfered between them, but since their love was true, they meet again.
2012 London – Now they meet as Krish, Radha and Meera set in the next-generation in London, wherein live-in-relationships are common and people do not find it important to marry even if kids are born. When Shahid declares that he ends his relationship with Meera, on his birthday, he bangs into Priyanka (Radha). They again fall in love but Meera’s vibes separate them. The movie takes the audience back to the pre-independence era,
1910 Sargoda, Lahore - An inter-religion love story between a Muslim and a Sikh. Set during British rule on India, the story depicts the sacrifice both the lovers do for each other. Shahid bangs into Priyanka, a revolutionary’s daughter, who saves him from the British, even knowing that he is a Casanova. When cupid strikes the two, their religion and a misunderstanding comes between them. When Shahid proves himself a rebel in front of the Britishers, Priyanka refuses to marry him for her father’s decision. They marry separately, but their incomplete love strikes back.
The movie’s climax is in London (2012) wherein Shahid publicly confesses his love for Radha in front of Meera. Their love finally triumphs and they meet as a married couple.
However negative or positive vibes people around us may be sending, maybe through generations, true love triumphs. This may happen over half or over a century demanding some sacrifices.
