In my opinion, Raaja is composing music for the future.   I found this,  whenever you hear his early works, even today, they are afresh

and that means are much ahead of time ( even now!).  I would be more than happy I’m gifted to listen to his songs during my life time!  Here goes my list

1)  Ennullil Yedho yengum jeevan - Rosappu ravikkaikari - I dont think any other MD in tamil has composed songs for such emotion.  ( Viraham).  Wonderful.  Similar songs in this line are Ennulle ennulle ( Valli ), Sollayo vai thirandhu ( Mohamul) etc.

2)  Poonthaliraada - Panneer Pushpangal - for its richness and intricacies. ( Watch the key board blends with the guitar at the beginning to give a curve!  out of the world)

3)  Kadhal Oviyam - Alaigal Oyivadhillai - the lines of the song says it all - yendrum aanandham, perinbam, deiveeham....

4)  Pazhaiya sohangal - Eeravizhi kaviyangal - Nothing to say... just feel it

5)  Aruna Kirana Deepam - Guru ( Malayalam) - For its symphonic style

6)  Aayiram malargale Malarungal - Niram Maaraadha pookkal - Nostolgic

7)  Ilaya nila - payanangal Mudivathillai - Guitar at its best

8)  Naan thedum Sevvanthi poovidhu - Dharma pathini - Peppy

9)  Jaane Do na - Cheeni Kum - For its freshness ( watch the modulation in pronouncing the word "Jane do na" throughout the song.

10) Thiruvasagam - Heavenly

11)  Yedho ninaivugal - Agal Vilakku - you travel backwards in time

          

It is injustice to stop the list here.  Anyway there are many more precious gems to dwell in.  Keep listening to this great composer and be proud he is one among ourselves.
