A.R. Rehman. This name conjures up the best tunes in music world these days. Be it in Hindi, be it in Tamil, this man does weave magic with his wands. And what better than listing out what we think are his best 10 songs.
This is my favorite list from this young badshah of music directors.

1) Chinna Chinna ase/Dil hai chota sa : This song from the film Roja is a peppy song that gets to you as soon as u hear it. While the hindi version is good, I loved the tamil version better.

2) O rey Chori : This song from the film lagaan has been weaved most wonderfully by this young maestro. The mixing of indian with the western tune has been done most seamlessly.

3) Anjali Anjali : This song from the film duet is just magical. The saxofone used to enhance this song is just incredible. Now me, I do not know tamil at all. But on a pal’s recomendation I bought this cassette, and have had no regrets about it.

4) Chandralekha :This song from the film Thiruda Thiruda has a fusion sound about it. It just sounds great on a good music system.

5) Chaiya Chaiya : This song from the film Dilse, is just that ..a song from the heart. Its a magical beaty song.

6) Ishq bina : From Taal, the version by Kavita Krishnamoorthy has excellent music, and the tempo generated towards the end of the song is amazing to say the least.

7) Hai Rama :From Rangeela, starts in an amazing fashion. This song has been really sung well by Hariharan to the magnificent music provided here.

8) Yeh haseen wadiyan : From Roja. I love this song, for its sheer composition

9) Title song : from the film Kadhalan. This song too is an amazing one. I just love the way it goes along.

10) Oruvan oruvan : This song is a fast paced song from the film Muthu, and has been sung with gusto by S.P. Balasubramanian. Listening to the song itself perks u up.
