There are songs and then there are patriotic songs. Over the period of over 100 years since the commencement of cinema in India there have been thousands of songs. None of them give you that pride of listening
like patriotic songs.
The List that I am about to give is 10 of the best patriotic songs ever written for Hindi Films.
When I went through the list of the other members who have written a review on this topic, some of them have included songs like Vande Mataram and Jana Gana Mana. These 2 songs don?t have to be included in any lists as they come much above any hindi film song or any poetry ever written. For those who do not Know, Vande Mataram is the country?s national song and Jana Gana Mana is India?s National Anthem.
The Songs mentioned below are in no particular order. They are just 10 of the best patriotic songs.
1) Door Hatho aey duniya walo

This is the first and the most popular song of the pre-independence era. A hidden message was given through this songs to the british to go away from India. A much talked about movie and extremely controversial song of that era which was passed amongst much fanfare through the Police (Yes at that time Police used to censor the films). The lyricist Pradeep had to go underground to evade arrest after the release of the song.
2) Ae Watan Ae Watan

There were 2 version of the songs used in the movie and both of them were extremely touching. None of the 4 movies on the life of Bhagat Singh released after this movie could move as much as Shaheed did and as much as this one particular song did. Mohammed Rafi, yet again, proved why he will always be the best male singer ever produced by India.
3) Rang De Basanti Chola

Movie ? Shaheed.
Another very popular patriotic song picturised on Manoj Kumar as Bhagat Singh and Prem Chopra as Sukhdev. There have been many versions of this song but none as touching as this.
4) Sarfaroshi Ki Tamana

Singers ? Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey & Rajendra Bhatia

Very touching song from the movie. The poem was written by the great freedom fighter Ram Prasad Bismil. The lyrics say it all, ?Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna ab hamarey dil main hai. Dekhna hai zor kitna bazaoo- e-qatil main hai.?. For those who do not knowm it would mean, Our heart is willing to lay life for the country. Lets see how much strength the shoulders of the killers have.
5) Aye Mere Pyaare Watan

Movie ? Kabuliwala
Another very very touching song picturised on Balraj Sahani. Its just played as a background song in the movie when the Kabuliwala is in the jail and thinking of his country ? Afghanistan.

The Most popular patriotic song and the greatest tribute ever written for a soldier.

Another very popular and touching song. Picturised on a group of soldiers who are missing their home.

Very Popular Song of one of the biggest hit movies of recent times. Another Song about soldiers missing their homes when they read letters from their loved ones.

One of the longest song written for a hindi film. Very touching song, once again about soldiers thinking about their loved ones when they are on the front.

Excellent Song which glorifies India and all that India has given to the world. The Song starts when Pran says to Manoj Kumar that India’s contribution to the world is nothing. Its Zero. Then The song starts like this,
