Padmashree K.J.Yesudas is my all time favorite singer.
His Crystal clear voice, can convey a range of emotions through his voice. His voice which has magical range gives life to song and music. Since his base is classical music, any song he sings has a classical touch.
It is a mammoth achievement for one to sustain for 25 years in the playback field. K J Yesudas has done just that, by singing not only for south Indian movies but also created a niche for himself in Hindi movies, creating his own style. Like the success he has achieved in the field of playback singing, he has done so in the field of Carnatic music also.
In 1976, Salil Chaudhary gave him a chance in Hindi films with'Anand Mahal'. Although his number' Aa Aa Re Mitwa' in the film was noticed, it was the film'Chitchor' that really launched him in Hindi films.'Gori Tera Gaon Bada Pyaara' and'Jab Deep Jale Aana' were two of his memorable numbers of which the former earned him the National award for best singer in 1979

Actor in this movie was Kamal Hasan who is fantastic in acting. This is a really touching Lullabby song.
