The Excellent Singer KJ Yesudas. Review on Ten Best Songs of Yesudas

This is again going to be something related to an amazing evergreen Singer from me!  In fact from the overwhelming response for my review on the most remarkable Singer “Kavita Krishnamurthy”, I really did understand the numerous music fans in the MS Circle.

“K.J. YESUDAS”

It would not be out of place if I mention that my grandpa was an ardent admirer of Yesudas & then it was my dad’s turn and now it is me & who knows tomorrow he could be the BEST SINGER for my children too!  K.J. Yesudas, a Malayalee(native of the state of Kerala in India), has sung “thousands” of songs including those of prayer songs of Lord Ayyappa & on various other Gods, classical based songs, the film songs in all the South Indian languages like Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil etc., and in several North Indian languages too.

SONGS ON LORD AYYAPPA

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if I mention at this place that no one has sung as many songs as K.J. Yesudas on Lord Ayyappa.  His sweet voice in the prayer songs of Lord Ayyappa, really melts even the most hard-hearted persons and spontaneously brings out the tears of devotion.  I am absolutely confident that no one could ever break his record of the(maximum sung) most heart-melting comely Ayyappan Songs.

Just 10 Best Songs?

In this connection, I think it is really very very difficult or probably even beyond my scope to choose just  “Ten best songs of Yesudas”, while if given an opportunity, I would be able to just like that list even 100 of my favourite songs of Yesudas!  But what to do ……. I shall try my best to bring out my most favourite Ten best songs alone.  But as far as male playback singers are concerned, it’s the truth that I am so technically qualified in Hindi songs to compare,  finalise  & short-list them, so I am going by my favourites in Tamil.

Melody No. 1:

Almost the name “K.J. Yesudas” fortuitously  reminds all the Gollywood fans of the evergreen song “Amma Endrazhaikaadha….” in the Tamil movie“Mannan”.  This song brings out the importance of a MOTHER& is really very remarkable.  The Lyrics in the song are rather too excellent and added to the wonderful tune of the song, is the contribution of K.J. Yesudas in singing the song in a rather sweet and emotional way.   SuperStar Rajnikanth has acted in the song(singing about his mother Actress Pandari Bai) with wonderful facial expressions. As is extensively loved by everyone, this is my favourite song No. 1 too.

Melody No. 2:

I have always had great interest in classical music.  It might be because of my classical background too.  In this regard, the song “Mari Mari Ninne …….” In the film “Sindhu Bhairavi” is yet another landmark of Yesudas.  Wow…. What a majestic voice!  “Sindhu Bhairavi” is a wonderful classical based Tamil movie with Sivakumar, Suhasini & Sulakshana starring.  I just love this song.  This is my favorite No.2.

Melody No. 3:

“Oru Naal Oru kanavu…….”……who could so easily forget this marvelous song in the Tamil movie “Kannukkul Nilavu” acted on by Hero Vijay and Actress Shalini!  I love the melody and the meaningful lyrics of this song and this is my favourite song No. 3

Melody No. 4:

Well, this is going to be a combination of all my favourites, A.R. Rehman, Vairamuthu & Yesudas.  Wanna to know the Song ……. it is “Machiniyae…….” in the movieSTAR.  Added to the charm of the picturisation of the song is the superb dance of Mumtaz & Hero Prasanth.  Anyone who thinks of this song, would be I am sure reminded of the beautifully designed orange colour costume of Mumtaz, following the magnificent voice of Yesudas.  I just love this song & what?  This is my favourite No. 4.

Melody No. 5:

“Kalyaana Then Nilaa……. Kaaikkhaadha Paal Nila…”- this is really a very melodious romantic song in the Tamil movie “Mounam Sammatham”, acted by the Malayalam popular Hero Mammutti with Actress Amala.  I love this song and even after hearing it for more than a hundred times, this is never boring to hear again & again.  Actress Amala appears in shining(plain) mysore-silk kind of sarees in this song and this song is very mesmerizing!

Melody No. 6:

In the Tamil Film “Marupadiyum” , there is a superb song …  “Ellorukkum Nalla Kaalam” – music by “Maestro Illayaraja”.  It’s a wonderful song sung by Yesudas.  I’ve heard this song many times so far & still I would love to hear it any number of times.

Melody No. 7:

This is again going to be a pretty older movie called “Oru Kaithiyin Diary” – the song I am sure all of you would have well-guessed, yes, it is “ABC Nee Vaasi Ellaam En Kairaasi”.  My favourite Hero Kamalhaasan has acted in this movie costarred by Revathi.  This is an evergreen song & I love this song very much.

Melody No. 8:

My favourite song No. 8 is “Panivizhum malarvanam …. Vun paarvai oru varam.”  in the Tamil movie “Panneer Nadhigal”.  I was very young when this film was released but this is one of the top-ranking songs even at present in all the FM Radio channels.  It’s very nice to hear this song any number of times.  This is one of the best compositions of the music director Shankar Ganesh!

Melody No. 9:

In the Tamil movie “Eeramaana Rojavey” , there is a lovely song“Vaa vaa anbey poojai vundu….”.  Although this movie was released when I was in my standard 7th or something, I still remember the wonderful voice of Yesudas in this ever-memorable song.   This is purely a love song full of very romantic https://lyrics.  This is my favourite song No. 9

Melody No. 10:

Moving on to a little older set of movies, the song “Kasthuri Maane……”in the Tamil movie “Pudhumai Pen” is one of my favourites of Yesudas.  The co-singer with Yesudas is Uma Ramanan and the Hero Pandian and Actress Revathi have acted beautifully in this song.  This was one of the initial introductory movies of the Gollywood Actress Revathi & the song by Yesudas’s lovely voice has made it an evergreen one.

So, I am sure, the MSians who had sent me several M2Ms enquiring about my next review would certainly like this one.  I would appreciate if all the readers do RRC(Read, Rate & Comment) this review without fail.
