Best Songs of Hemant Kumar:
Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar in her Shraddhanjali has described Hemant Kumar as a very versatile singer whose voice sounds like a sage sitting in a temple singing bhajans. Not only he was an excellent singer, he was equally a versatile music director / composer. His assistant music directors were Ravi and Kalyanji-Anandji, who later on became celebrated music directors in their own rights. His voice suited the actors Dev Anand, Pradeep Kumar and Biswajeet the most. Most of the songs composed by Burman Da for Dev Anand in his earlier films are either sung by Hemant Da or Kishore Kumar. Hemant Da sung the best for Burman Da’s or his own compositions.
My predecessor Mr. Cuchillo99 has already analysed 15 of his best songs as a singer. Therefore, I will name his best numbers according to me as singer(solo) and singer(in duet) and as a music composer. Since analysis of each song will occupy voluminous space and personally having little knowledge of music, I will name the melodies which can be and are hummed by amateurs.
