It is known fact that old is gold. When it comes to Bollywood there are many geniuses in music industry who spells their magic and ruled people hearts for years. Before my review there are many reviews written on this topic they have wonderfully described the features of the best of the best music director of Bollywood. All of them talked about the legends like R.D.Burman, Shankar-Jaikishan, Khayyam, O.P.Nayyar and some more.
For a change I have created a situation that if I am going to produce a movie which music director I will select, with respect to my story and among the available choices today, upto ten different situations.
1-A.R.Rehman-
If my story is highly sentimental or the topic is related to historical events my first preference will be A.R.Rehman. The softness and quality is available in the music of this genius. The best music director who fuses the music with technology and the result is almost cent percent. His superb music available is in ROJA, TAAL, SAATHIYA, ZUBEIDAA & KISNA.
2-Nadeem-Shravan-
My story is romantic with some tragic event involved in it and my first choice for this kind of situation is this duo, Nadeem-Shravan. In almost all of their albums the routine is like this that two to three romantic songs one dance number and two tragic songs this completes an album which really works in masses. There is so much said about this duo that they are less creative and the rarely experimented in music. The thing I found is that when every thing is going fine you try less and this is obvious from their last 15 albums. All these albums are routine work but that routine works with the fact you collect last 15 albums of any music director and compare with NS’s last 15 releases the result would be in favor of NS and this is on record. There recent excellent music is available in ANDAAZ, RAAZ, EK RISHTA, PARDES & BEWAFAA.
3-Anu Malik-
If my topic of movie is sensitive my first move will be toward Anu Malik. Copy cat non original etc is talked about him but at the end of the day the fact is that he is a good music composer. His arrangements are worth listening and when ever the subject of movie is sensitive his music is topper. The reason is that he picks the pulse of the hot subject and gives music accordingly. His work in BORDER, VIRASAT, REFUGEE, L.O.C, YAADAIN & SSSSHHHH. is distinguished.
4-M.M.Kareem-
The total tragic movie with sequential tragic events, I see this is the person as music director of this kind of story. He is neglected so much but the potential of the person is there. He whenever works he is admired. Though his audience is restricted but the fact is that he is the best in this kind of story and proves in the movies like ZAKHAM, SUR, CRIMNAL & ROG. All these movies didn’t work at box office but the music is successful.
5-Sandesh Shandela-
If I am making a movie about teenagers or young people and lot of decent dancing numbers are required my eyes will stick on Sandesh Shandela. His every single release is an elegant collection in the music bank. The youthful and energetic tracks are highlight of his music. Though he don’t use very strong bass and treble but the dancing numbers are foot-taping. His best work is observed in K3G(3 songs), CHAMELI, RULES & SOCHA NA THA.
6-Jatin-Lalit-
If my movie is totally romantic my choice is surely Jatin Lalit. Their style is mostly influenced by R.D.Burman, with which they are criticized but in my view this is a quality we are lucky to have the resembled music of Pancham. Highly romantic music is their product and 90 times out of 100 they don’t disappoint you with their music. Pure melody with some good tunes are their specialty and their this quality has made them choice of every producer bcaz every one want to produce romantic movie and hence need Jatin Lalit. Their best of work is seen in JO JEETA WOHI SIKANDAR, DIL WALE DULHANIAY LAY JAIN GAY, KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI, SANGHARSH & CHALTE CHALTE.
7-Anand Raj Anand-
My story is fight and action related then my choice is this person. People don’t like him for the reason of his compromise for money. He go for small projects and works too much at times but the first rated movies he signed witnessed cool music by this gentleman. He experimented a lot in his music but most time he failed so his failure work ratio increases and he become the disliked figure among the music people, still he is a good music director and whenever used properly produced instant hits. His good work is observed in KAANTE, MAJOR SAAB, TERA MERA SAATH RAHAY GA AND MUSAFIR.
8(a) -Vishal-Shekhar-
If my story is romance oriented and I need soft melodious songs I will go to these people. They are new in industry and the best thing about them is that their work is not criticized but appreciated by everyone still they are young so there is much to come from them. The thing which is become their specialty is the Soft numbers and the melody. The best of their work is in JHANKAR BEATS, PYAR MAIN KABHI KABHI, MUSAFIR & SHABD.
8(b) -Sajid-Wajid-
If my story is romance and some sentiments my choice will be these guys. High quality melody is their sphere. They struggled so much to get their first solo movie and they prove their ability in that with some great experimentation and attractive melodies. They are going fine with their music. Their best of work is in CHORI CHORI, KYA YEHI PYAR HAI, SHRARAT & MUJHSE SHAADI KARO GI.
9-Himesh Reshammiya-
My story is youthful and events with some comedy involved and my preference is Himesh Reshammiya. He is the busiest music director these days and every third movie released these days is blessed with his music. His music is melodious and cheerful he is more toward Laximikant-Pyarelal and Nadeem-Shravan style and his music is improving day by day. His quality work is in TERE NAAM, TARZAN, AITRAAZ AND DIL MAANGE MORE.
10-Shankar Ehsan Loy-
My movie is sensitive and situational then my choice will be S-E-L. They are the finest music composers today we have and most innovative. They have created their class and are composing music of every kind. They are trying to use the newest instruments in music available today. The best thing about their work is that they compose very youthful and extraordinary tunes with one of their member(Shankar) can sing which certainly is a plus point. Their best of the work can be seen in DIL CHAHTA HAI, LAKSHYA, KAL HO NA HO, MISSION KASHMIR, & PHIR MILLEINGE.
The above described music directors are the asset of Indian film industry and they are producing music of quality and likeability. These are all my choices in different situations when I need music and which music directors can produce music of my choice in these conditions.
