Presenting below some of 'em, without any order but served with lots of luv!

~ From the Academy Award-winning director of ''Forrest Gump'' and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of ''Contact'' take you on a journey to the heart of the universe ~

Contact (1997)

starring: Jodie Foster, Matthew McConaughey...

A quick view of story (source:imdb.com) - When Dr. Eleanor Arroway (Jodie Foster) receives a message from aliens, they tell humans to build a machine so they can communicate with the aliens. Now Dr. Arroway must decide whether she should stay safe or risk her life to contact the aliens.

Absolutely beautiful movie.

Simply watch for Jodie's sensitive performance and the spellbinding special effects. I was so moved by the movie that it lingered in my sleep for days after.

The most memorable scene - the launch of the machine (carrying Jodie) into space

Quote from movie

S.R. Hadden (John Hurt): Wanna take a ride?

~ He was their inspiration. He made their lives extraordinary ~

Dead Poets Society (1989)

starring: Robin Williams, Ethan Hawkes....

As the tagline of the movie says, it'z inspiring to say the least.

Absolutely endearing performance from Williams, the students and finally, a movie that can change your academic life - if you so wish.

Oscar winner (13-14 nominations)

Quote from movie

John Keating (Robin Williams): No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.

~ Sex is power ~

Disclosure (1994)

starring: Michael Douglas, Demi Moore, Donald Sutherland....

The heat will blow you away!

The vulnerability of Michael Douglas and the seducing act of Demi Moore torch the screen into ashes!

But lemme tell you this first - those who haven't watched it yet, this is no B-grade adultz movie. It's a first rate fare of a brilliant analyst (Michael Douglas) of a computer company being sexually harassed by his boss (Demi Moore). But everyone in the company believes it as vice-versa. Drawn into a legal mess, he must prove his innocence, save his marriage, and his job. Will he stand a chance?

Quotes from movie

[Meridith (Demi) passionately kisses Tom (Michael)]

Meridith: There... Now that wasn't so bad, wasn't it?

~ Heroes are measured by what they do ~

Hart's War (2002)

starring: Bruce Willis, Colin Farell....

A quick view of story (source:screenit.com) - A young American officer finds himself representing a black officer accused of killing a white soldier in a German WWII POW camp.

Another intellectually stimulating movie I happened to see by chance in Star Moviez. It's a gripping knockout from start to end.

Bruce Willis and Colin Farell steal the show equally, leaving no breathing space for each other! Equally outstanding is the performance of Marcel Iures as the German leader of the camp.

Watch it for the story and the intense performances of the leading stars.

~ Nothing like it has ever been on earth before ~

Predator (1987)

starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers...

A quick view of story (source:imdb.com) - A team of commandos, on a mission in a Central American jungle, find themselves hunted by an extra-terrestrial warrior

What do I say about this one?

It has my most fav muscle-action hero, Schwarzer baby!

And the eerie drum beats in the background as our men get trapped in a thick forest, with a hungry alien predator watching their every move...

The chilling suspense every other minute prompts you to chew up 99% of your nails compared to the chewing of the victims in the movie!

some memorable scenes - Arnold's arm-wrestling with Carl Weathers; his final encounter with the predator

Quotes from movie

Poncho (Richard Chaves): You're bleeding, man

Blain (Jesse Ventura): I ain't got time to bleed.

(Poncho shoots a bunch of grenades up to the top of the cliff)

Poncho: You got time to duck?

~ A thousand feet beneath the sea, the blackest holes are in the mind... ~

Sphere (1998)

starring: Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, Samuel Jackson....

A quick view of story (source:imdb.com) - 1000 feet below the ocean, navy divers discover an object half-a-mile long. A crack team of scientists are deployed to the site in Deepsea Habitats. What they find boggles the mind as they discover a perfect metal sphere. What is the secret behind the sphere? Will they survive the mysterious 'manifestations'? Who or what is creating these? They may never live to find out

A top mind-stimulating science thriller.

Watch out for the rocking performances of Hoffman, Stone and Jackson. And the end is simply nerve-wracking! - any second, these 3 scientists may die....

Quotes from movie

Harry (Samuel Jackson): Are you a religious man, Norman?

Norman (Dustin Hoffman): Atheist, but I'm flexible.

~ An enemy they can't see. A nation under siege. A crisis they can't control ~

The Siege (1998)

starring: Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, Bruce Willis...

Quick view of story (source:imdb.com) - The secret US abduction of a suspected terrorist leads to a wave of terrorist attacks in New York that lead to the declaration of martial law.

This movie drew heavy criticism from various quarters especially the Arabs living in NY and the Middle East for potraying these nationals in a 'negative' light.

I dunno about the political result, but the movie as an entertainment is absolutely paisa-vasool. Denzel is fab, so is Annette and Tony Shalhoub. Bruce Willis has a short role but his impact is deadly nevertheless.

It'z the Siege which prompted me to bracket Denzel as my most fav Hollywood actor. The guy is simply inspiring.

Another movie which I luv to watch again, again, again & again.

some memorable scenes - some bomb explosions (wont tell ya!), Denzel's encounter with Bruce in the end...

Quotes from movie

Sharon (Annette): Samir! The Koran preaches...

Samir (Sami Bouajila): Do not lecture me on the Qur'an, woman!

~ The Story of a lifetime ~

The Truman Show (1998)

starring: Jim Carrey, Laura Linney, Ed Harris...

Quick view of story (source:imdb.com) - An insurance salesman/adjuster (Jim Carrey) discovers his entire life is actually a TV show.

The movie carried effortlessly by the inimitable Carrey moves you to laugh, feel sad and finally a sense of elation that Truman is finally free...

one of Jim's most endearing performances and lovely cinematography. A movie I'm not tired viewing for the nth time.

Quotes from movie

Truman (Jim Carrey): Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
