TATA INDICOM PHOTON DEVICE...

Recently I have purchased PHOTON device, I took plan 800, which would allow me to use 1GB and they give 1GB free as offer for first 2 months

Following
are the points to note before you purchase this device
1) you can not track your usage in terms of KB/MB/GB (like 100MB per day or so...), the salesmen will not tell you this, even if you call the customer care they will blindly promiss that you can track usage..and they will tell you to register in www.tataindicom.com to know the balance, and click "internet meter" link which will not work (please not this will work only for tata indicom land line, tata indicom broadband..not for PHOTON device)

2) the plan’s are very costly they give PLAN 700(.5MB) 700 + tax, PLAN 800 (1GB) 800+tax and Unlimited (1500 + 12% vat), And note if you are in plan 800, you can use upto 1GB after which every 1 MB is charge Rs2/-, so consider if you use 1.5 GB in PLAN 800 (i.e. exceed 500MB) they will charge you Rs 1000/- extra, so in effect you will pay 896 + 1000 = Rs1896/-. But if you would have gone for the unlimited plan you will pay only 1500 + 180 = 1680/- only for unlimited usage....
Now you will know why it is so important to track usage in terms of MB/GB, which I mentioned in Point 1

3) Tata’s customer care..as always it’s always great, I am traking them for that past 1 week to get a new password (reset password), they are very prompt in saying that after 24hrs they will get back, but you will not get any solution from them, so far I did not get my password reset even after several failed attempts. The customer care number is not toll free. So tata indicom expects the customer to wasted their hard earned money to talk to the customer care

I am from tamil nadu, and the tataindicom customer care I call is 044-66660121, this will be routed to Hyderabad call center and everyday you will be taking to different peple who do not have any clue of what was your problems so every day you have to repeat

Finally, these are all based on my own experience and I thought of sharing this with the wider audience through mouthshut. So if you are a customer who are already happy with using PHOTON device, please note this review is not for you...please excuse...
