My name is jiger kothamdi from lagos, nigeria. I bought tata safari from tata official dealer. since buying the vehicle there has been problems after problems. first of all there customer service is horrible. they dont even know how to service the vehicle. one day I spent at least 8 hrs at there workshop to get the wheel balancing and allignment right and it was still not done. and funnily I was not even offered water or a place to sit.
the vehicle costed me around 14lakh rs and I spent in 4 years 10lakhs rs to maintain it. one the first year the elcetronic sytem spoiled. what I could repair in 10000rs in india I was charged 40000rs. in 4 years the clutch plate was replaced twice. the engine heating nozzle was replaced in 2 years. they keep on complaining about diesel quality. I buy diesel from the same source and my tank is always full. why is it my other vehicle has no problem only this tata safari.
the 4wd drive function stopped on its own and when complained to the dealer the estimate give would be enough to buy another vehicle. even the fuse box fuse were removed and wire was attached to it instead of standard fuse.
the first day when I got the vehicle I went to buy diesel and it would not start afterwards. the battery terminal was not attached properly.
they imported only 5 or 6 tata safari and all of them are grounded. you can even check olx nigeria all of them have been put for sale.
because we r in Nigeria the dealer(tata africa services Nigeria ltd) official company of tata charges any amount.
the vehicle would not run for 2 months before it goes back to its workshop for some problem or other.
funny enough the last time the vehicle was sent to tata workshop was in the year 2015 and till date I have not heard from them as to what to do with it. they just keep on sending exorbitant invoice to repair it.
even the managing director who was handling our issue left the country and did not even pass on the problem to his second but up and left.
I would not suggest any body to buy tata passenger vehicle as they r of not international standard.
