A Big Question on Its Success

During the beginning days when Tata Nano car came to the market, there was a revolutionary response by middle class and lower middle class people to have it and customers paid money in advance and waited for it for quite a long time. But as time passed on, the enthusiasm reduced day by day and it is no more a craze for the common people.

Pros:

1) This car being a compact one, its advantage in parking in urban areas attracted many buyers to avoid parking inconveniences.

2) Four doors even with a compact dimension made it a good vehicle for a standard family.

3) Its mileage is good of course touching 25 kilo meters per liter which is best so far as fuel economy is concerned.

4) Its maximum speed can touch 105 kilo meters per hour which is also good and even in traffic jam, it could be driven at a good speed.

5) Even lower middle class people, mostly salaried people could afford the luxury of riding a car which was not reachable for them prior to this.

6) Rear wheel drive makes it movable in difficult road conditions.

7) Its low price enhanced its marketability in the beginning.

8) due to its local make, servicing is very convenient.

Cons:

1) In the beginning in the year 2008, Rupees one lac was a good amount for a standard salaried person and adding Rupees 50, 00/- more, one could afford a more luxurious vehicle with a loan being financed. This is the main reason why its popularity went down quickly.

2) Boot space in it is very small which causes very often a lot of inconveniences.

3) The height of the car is much raised with respect to its dimensions which causes instability and turning it at 90 degree even at a speed of 25 to 30 kilo meters can be prone to fall around.

Although there are economy features associated with this car, it can never be a luxury for a person. So I never recommend it to anyone rather go for a better one with a little more investment for sure.
