Tragic Service Experiance with Kulathunkal Motors.

Am a Fiat Linea Owner. Purchased the same from Kulathunkal Motors, Byepass road, Trivandrum.


It was a pleasure to deal with the Sales team in Kulathunkal.


Story changed from the first moment I stepped in to the service center.


1) Complaint 1 - Keyless entry not working. Door won't close.


Kulathunkal motors told me that they will fix it and asked me to park the car for 2 days at dealership. I did the same and got my door fixed. 2 days after it got out of the dealer's place, the Door showed exactly the same complaint.


Went in and spoke to Kulathunkal. They asked me to bring the car once more and park for 2 more days. I went to Mohandas Motors(2nd Dealer in Trivandrum).They said that the entire system should be replaced and can be done so under warranty. They ordered the part and it took 14 days to reach them. They replaced it for me.


2) Service 1 - @ 3000 Kms


I am working in Technopark and it is very easy for me to drop my car at Kulathunkal. I dropped my car at Kulathunkal for Service @ 3000 Kms. Service was done with following issues -


2.1) Lots of greased hand-mark on the beige interiors and seats


2.2) Toll pass @ Rs 150 stolen.


3) Body shop work 1 - Paint damage due to small hit with Autorickshaw


Took the same to Kulathunkal as the incident happened in Highway. Bodyshop said, they would fix it and asked me to drop for 4 days. I came back after 4 days. Work was done with following issues -


3.1) They painted a portion front light and windshield. When I asked about this, The body shop representative said - "Painters are human beings." He was not inclined to offer any help in cleaning the paint. I had to stand my ground and insist.


3.2) I observed that my mirror cap was not painted. I pointed that out to the "Body shop rep". He went in to the dealership and pulled out a mirror cap from another Linea and attached to my car.


3.3) The usual greased hand marks all around my beige interiors and seat.


4) Service @ 15000 Kms


Took to Kulathunkal. Issues are -


4.1) Service done but cabin was filled with greased hand marks


4.2) Lost my Car cleaning sponge costing Rs 600.


5) Body Shop Work 2 - Auto colliding with Passenger side rear view mirror damaged.


Service @ Kulathunkal done with following issues -


5.1) Co-Passenger Beige seat painted deep blue at the center. When asked about it, "Body Shop" person told that I brought it painted.


5.2) My rear view mirror in the left side looks very small compared to rear view mirror on the right side. I did not pursue it further because I got totally fed up with Kulathunkal &%$&^$#$#. But I am sure they fixed a Punto Mirror on my car.


5.3) While waiting to collect my car, I saw 5 service advisers and Kulathunkal staffs sitting and wearing Tie. They were talking about this tie being from a car handed over by a US Technology Employee. They kept one tie telling that there are many more in the car and owner wont notice. This happens right in front of me. I cant imagine what will happen to our cars with these*(%$%$#%#$.


Now my car has clocked 24000 Kms. I am planning to do future services in Mohandas Motors. Will continue with my review on Mohandas.


All Kulathunkal customtakeouters, don't get fooled by their escalation mechanisms, Quality statements etc. The dealership is a set of croocks managed by an incapable manager. Dont believe the claims of Ajay Pothen.


There is space and time restriction for adding all of my bad experiences. Other than what is mentioned above, beware of following -


a) Frauds in Accessories division. They are cheats.


b) Ajay Pothen's assurances(He is not in control)


c) I have a doubt that stealing parts is common in Kulathunkal. I don't have any proof. This is a feeling having seen their working style.


d) I am reasonably sure that they will switch parts in your car with other cars.


As for people who are planning to buy > Rs 800000 cars from Kulathunkal or Pothens Hyundai, please drop the idea. Its not worth the non-sense you will face during the ownership.
