Journey with Tata broadband


My journey with HATHWAY has been an interesting one they did provide me with excellent service as I embarked my journey with them but later on I found it to be  cumbersome as they made changes to the technology stack with promises that could never be delivered. Post cancellation of the account which was communicated both verbally as well as formally I still keep getting monthly bills – now that's something isn't it:) .If you wish to read my reviews on hathway here is the link [1]

Coming back to the subject I  shifted base within Pune & search for a reliable internet service provider was not a quest. I state this for the fact being I was left with no option but to choose Tata Indicom Broadband as they hold monopoly in this area – Which is SAD.


Tata as a brand I do trust them but this division of theirs sucks big time. My journey with Tata started on a positive note, I had no complaints but a few hiccup here and there which was not a big deal BUT alas the dream run ended shortly. From the past three months I have been experiencing regular outages on a fortnightly basis which extended beyond 8 hours. A month back my internet was down for almost three days repeated attempts made by me to reach their contact center [18002661515] yielded no results. I was at my wits end but given the brand value I thought of it to be one-off instance. But the problem continued every other week with a down time of almost 5+ hours. I have extended work hours so have to work from home sometimes imagine my plight for the kind of service that is being offered for 1000+ bucks.


FAST FORWARD taking you to the current state of affairs in Pune with Tata Indicom Broadband. Its the fourth day today and I have been having troubles with internet(partial connectivity). I have called their support center [18002661515] 19 times, every time I am being assured they will be rectifying the problem in 6hours time – I chuckle NOW when they give me such commitments. Their support framework fails at multilevel – Elaborating further


[A] On dialing the above number you will be connected to the customer service team, every time I have to repeat my problem - >   Called them almost 19 times. Ain’t that something?


[B] Rely heavily on the canned responses “I am sorry for the inconvenience & we will be resolving the problem in x-hours time” - > REALLY?


[C] There is problem with our servers in Pune & we cannot transfer you to the technical team as they are aware and already working - > Come on 4 days that's 244=96 hours. Does your other business unit work in the same fashion – extended down time with no resolution in sight


[D] On pushing I was finally transferred to a technical person, asked them what is the exact problem; couldn't get a satisfactory answer. I probed, asked further if your servers are down would I be able to connect to the internet via physical connection. Answer was NO – but fact being I can connect to the internet via wired the problem is with the wifi setup, modem just doesn't assign gateway address. I did my ground work checked if it was the problem with my router found it to be not the case as its working fine with other ISP - > Now I started doubting technical capabilities


[E] Asked for a technician to be sent home & a support case was registered. One of the floor managers committed but later-on all I got was a call and the person at the other end stated it’s a problem with the server and whole of Pune is affected - > Oh Come on I was already told that & now the commitments are not being honored In a nut shell ‘POOR SUPPORT FRAMEWORK’


I am at my wits end and still waiting for a resolution and gonna forward this link to the support team. Will keep updating the status for benefit of larger mass~ Cheers

i] The issue still persists, straight 4 days


ii] I was told by 1600 hours today issue would be resolved; nothing has been done nor the technician came down for a visit just a call stating team is working on the problem


iii] Have an email update which states would be resolved by October 23, 2015 i.e - TOMORROW

i] Outage extended for 5 complete days.


ii] Issue got resolved today and my wireless connection is up & running - a big relief and do owe a thanks to them

why do you even run this portal if you don't want people to run reviews. So called monitoring team dope heads you should have deleted this review and kept the other one. I had filed it under wrong tree(i.e tata indicom) when I first posted hence I had created a new one under the right tree(Tata Docomo as the review was meant for docomo and not indicom) since I did not find the functionality to move the review from one page to the other .
