Well,  all of you must have read loads of obituaries of Tashan..well I tend to differ. I am not saying Tashan is a great movie, but its not entirely crap - Its got its moments.

I am not going to put you all through the story line again.  Tashan does not have a story after all.

Tashan starts with a red car going through a ragged hilly terrain and then losing control and diving into a deep sea, the diving part (the graphic) though looks kiddish.  The start itself gives you an idea of the proceedings.

Saif aka Jimmy is the first to make his entry into the movie and he does a decent job, though the talking to the camera bit could have been avoided.  He is a call center executive cum English teacher and as in all cases, he falls in love with Kareena the moment he sees her, well most of us would! She wants him to teach English to her boss.

Well, now starts the real entertainment.  Her boss, Bhaiyyaji is a don-cum-smuggler-cum murderer-cum English fan.

Circumstances lead to Kareena walking away with crores of rupees of Bhaiyyaji, and Bhaiyyaji hires Bachan Pande to recover the amount.  So, Bachan Pande along with Jimmy are out to search for Kareena aka Pooja and recover the money for Bhaiyyaji and the whole movie is what transpires during this journey.

Tashan has good and stylish visuals and the locations are in sync with the premise of the movie.  The music is very bad but the background score scores, its awesome.

As far as the performances go, Saif is just okey-dokey, nothing great.  Kareena sparkles at moments and looks good.  Akshay Kumar as Bacchan Pande is superb. The scene where he gives out his emotions when proposing to Kareena is excellent, but his action scenes look very comical.

And now comes "The Performance of the Decade."  Anil Kapoor as Bhaiyyaji is simply terrific. He gives the role an entirely different dimension and believe me, any other actor in his place would have hammed like hell and made a mockery out of the role.  Bhaiyyaji’s role is a very challenging one; one in which you have to be comical, ferocious, and volatile.  Just look at the scene where he does Deewar’s "aaj khush toh bahut hoge tum" scene and that itself is worth your money.  Then there is one more scene where he talks to Akshay on the phone and gives him a good dressing-down. These two scenes make it more than enough for the drawbacks of the movie.  If only the rest of Tashan was half as good as Anil Kapoor, the movie would be a blockbuster.

But still I would recommend that you watch Tashan, only because of Anil Kapoor.  Well seing him act alongside Akshay and Saif, you realize the difference between Men and boys.

See it friends, after all its not that bad.
