I bought a TVS Victor in 2003. And from day 1 it was full of problems. The bike would not start easily despite repeated kicks. The engine would cut off suddenly while idling despite TVS service centre tuning. On downhill slopes it backfires even today despite regular service at authorized TVS service centres. The fuel efficiency has never exceeded 55 kmpl despite riding at 40kmph and regular engine tuning, air pressure maintenance etc. Within 3 years the tank corroded and petrol seeped through minute holes.
Required sealing and eventual replacement which was done with a green tank since black was not available in stock at the dealer for weeks. All chrome parts are rusting. Given my experience I suggest this brand be avoided. It has been an absolute letdown for me. Worse still, I can't even hope to get a good resale value despite regular authorised service maintenance. At the service centre I've encountered several TVS Victor owners who complained of similar problems. Why the hell did I trust Sachin? Arrrrrgh!
