About six months ago, after years, of searching, I decided that I had had enough of the ever curly mop on my head. Oh yes, I could continue to spend 1 1/2 hours every two days drying it and only then would it be considered very wavy; or, I would try the newest and best treatment, the Japanese straightening.

I went on-line to find a salon close to my house. I did not want to drive the hour and a half, in traffic to Beverly Hills. Of course, the best place was in Beverly Hills, so I called. AFter a few minutes of discussion on the pros and cons of the procedure,’’its best if you have ’’virgin’’ hair (no color)’’, I guess the person on the other end felt my frustration and suggested Tigi.

Another product in the long list of expensive, exclusive, shampoos and conditioners, thought I, but that wouldn’t stop me from running to get it. I found it in the supermarket, bottom shelf, surrounded by EVERYTHING else. Green, lime green, ugly green (it made me think of having a real bad cold.....use your imagination). Anyway, I took it home and forgot about it. A week later, out of shampoo in my bathroom room (and not wanting to risk a streak across the upstairs), i tried it.

The water seemed light, my bathroom glowed, the birds started singing and I was transported to heaven. I have found the fountain of good hair! No longer do I fight to put a semblance of control to otherwise unruly strands of hair. It obeys me. I am its master. I rule. I am in control. Japanese straightening? and take away my soft, wonderful waves? NEVER..........

The product has a shampoo, conditioner, a frizz control, straightener and for that extra tough hair, a spray. Slightly more expensive than the rest, it is certainly more affordable than those sold by the salons. I have a new motto: Give me Tigi, or give me death.
