I love swimming and if you are reading my review, you probably do like this sport too. I’ve been in this sport for as long as I can remember........ It’s an awesome sport, full of energy and
excitement.

Swimming is the second toughest sport, after wrestling. You need to be very strong to hang in here. Like all the sports, swimming also requires LOADS of hard work. Getting a medal in the olympics is every swimmers dream (If you are into competitive swimming). But for India, getting a medal at the international level is a very big deal and an achievement. Standards of swimming in India is very low, In fact the standard of all the sports in India, except cricket is very low. Cricket is the only sport that India takes interest in, not that I’m saying it is bad, but we should also support other sports. Cricket is not even a part of the olympics, and that really sucks.

It hurts a lot, when you look back at your career and realize that you are still hanging at the same national level, in India. Every swimmer puts in a lot of hard work and determination in their practices and it’s really bad when you dont see the results. One starts to wonder about how many length of the pool, the’ve swum and all this has taken them nowhere.

Swimming is very refreshing. I’ve been a competitive swimmer since i was only 3 years old and that why i’m in love with it. I eat, drink, smell, sleep, dream, walk, run SWIMMING. I’ve done swimming in Delhi, but the best swimmers of India are in karnataka and Maharashtra. But even they have a hard time achieving a medal at the international level.

By now, you probably know that i love swimming. I have a huge list of my favourite swimmers, but I will only name a few for now. I love Michael Phelps from the United States and Ian Thorpe from Australia, amongst the men. From the women, I love Inge De Bruijn of Netherlands and Jenny Thompson (who retired this year after the FINA championship) of United States. These are just a few names, but my list doesn’t end here.

You need a lot of determination to do big in any sport and same applies to swimming. I’m a big believer that if you have faith in yourself, you can be where you aim of being, in life. But with that you also need luck and not everyone is lucky enough to have their dream come true. But anyways, i wish all you guys good luck in whatever you wanna achieve.

Have fun and keep ~~~~~~~~~swimming~~~~~~~~

Who is your favorite sports player in this field? Michael Phelps
