Ok let me share my experience with this GS150R. This is my first bike. Since its a new one, its not at all poular in my locality (pondicherry). Just i'll see a GSR once in a week rarely. I had a test drive of this bike, since its a short distance, I cant get much of this bike in test drive. After buying this bike, I'm feeling its real value for the money I paid for it. My story with GSR starts like this....

On the test drive....

The dealer, after making me to wait for 15 mins, got a grey GSR for test drive. Getting closer to that bike, I came to know that its not a test vehicle rather its a brand new vehicle that got down from lorry just few mins before. I started the bike using motor (self start). within half a second it started. Engine sound was unpleasant. But the silencer sound is a good soft beat. I got onto the bike, I noticed the seating height from the ground. Quit suite me (I'm 5.9" tall).

My both the foot touched the ground without bending the knees. Which means, it suite with my height perfectly. I got the instructions of putting the gears and controls from the service person. Since its a brand new bike, the gears are very hard. I managed to use it. Initially I ride it softly. While riding, I didnt here the engine sound and also no beat form silencer. Its damp silent. After some distance, I started to ride the bike very roughly. now I can notice the engine sound.

This time, the sound is very gentle and I started loving it. The sound is very young. Since its sound, I dont know to explain it. I stopped the bike and started the bike in 2nd gear. It moved nicely. This time, i could feel the real power of GSR. I cruised the bike with 6000RPM in 3rd gear. Still no Vibration. The speedometer didnt work, so I cant determine my speed . I can notice only the tachometer. Rear breaks are not efficient to stop the bike. With the combination of the front disc, its easy.

After comparing this bike with all other 150cc bike, I decided to book it.

On the own drive....

I got the bike (Candy Max Orange) evening at 4.30. I went to temple for poojas. Many bikes are there in queue. There I saw, Apache, Unicorn, FZ. So I compared this bike with them. I'm very must satisfied with my GSR. Other bike owners (apache, unicorn..) enquiered about this bike. *I felt the real eye catching and head turning looks of GSR at that time. *While riding on the road, all are looking at this bike, in bunk shop, all are enquirer about GSR. This is continuing till now....

*200 kms done....

In the cold start, I have to press the starter button for about *1 second to start the engine. And in the warm start, its just less than a second. initially the engine RPM will be 1000. After getting warm, it will gradually raise to 1400-1500RPM (It may be oil circulating duration). Till now, I never used choke or accelerator while starting the engine.I used to pump the clutch for 10 times before putting the 1st gear. (This will allow to circulate the oil over the clutch plate).

College is located 20kms away from home. I went to college in this bike for somedays and reached 200kms. Even thought its 20kms, there will be terrific traffic for 12 kms. Initially, the engine was butter smooth and the gear war rock hard. While nearing 40 kms, *I felt the gears are becoming smooth and slight engine noise (Valve Clutter noise) that too in 3500-4000 RPM @ 3rd and 4th gears.

While nearing 200 Kms..., the gears became butter smooth and the engine valve cutter sound heard highly in 3500-4000 RPM @ 3rd, 4th and 5th gears. The service man replied that the valve sound is common and because of the initial wear that will happen during break in period. Small resonance from the engine in 3500-4000RPM, But I cant hear it while riding with a pillion. Rear breaks also became stronger enough.

*Mileage....

For 100Rs petrol, It runs 133Kms. So approximately my gsr is giving55Kmpl*. (But till now I've completed just 250kms. Hope mileage will increase after 1st service)

In City...

Dont need to run the engine in half clutch as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Gears are designed for city cruising, that too for heavy traffic streets. The following table illustrate the gear vs kms without knocking the engine (minimum speed limit for every gear).

2nd gear: 8-9kms

3rd gear: 11-12kms

4th gear: 17-19kms

In Highways...

5th and 6th gear are designed for high ways. Especially the 6th (Overdrive). Bike is flying in 6th gr. No vibration, no engine sound. only the wind blowing sound. Gas shocks and vehicle's weight adds rock solid riding in highways. while cruising above 60, the bike is flying over the small pits. Pits are quite common on Indian roads. Now the breaks also became nice, but since its the front disc break, we have to use it cautiously. At 4000 RPM, its goes 60-65kmph in 6th gear. Since its in break in time, my top speed is 65kmph.

6th Gear (Over drive)...

Not for speed, but for mileage. I felt many things with the GSR's gear box and its gear ratios. I can tell that it has been designed in a balanced manner. I mean, to suite the city condition and the highway. To meet the Power and the Performance.

5th Gear...

It serves 2 purpose. in City, for best fuel efficiency and in high ways, it helps to reach the 6th gear. It is purely depend on the rider how uses it.

4th Gear...

In 4th gear, I went upto 45kmph with full pickup. *Over taking long truck got over within 4 sec.

Pillion....

Its a lengthier vehicle. It has a spacious seating arrangement for the pillion who sits by putting the legs on both the side. Its good for girls wearing sarees. since they have to sit on one side. The pillion seat is equally lengthier that of the rider seat. So they no need to sit half way on the rear grab handles. I went triples too for 10 kms without any difficulties. The pillion seat is very height. so that the pillion no need to lean towards left or right of the rider to see the road. The road wil be clearly visible by sitting straight. The important thing here is that, pillion thigh and the leg will be 90 degrees. so that pillion will not get any knee pain on long journey.

Appearance (Triple M)....

Majestic, Muscular, Mature 150 CC bike. And sporty too...Soon, I'll upload many more details of my experience with GS150R in the comment section. Since we cant exceed 7500 characters. Please do a comment of this review. If you have any other queries, feel free to contact me. at kripscorpATgmailDOTcom.
