Success is Dushyant‘s (Sivaji Ganeshan’s grandson) first movie. Eager to know how this guy acts, out of sheer curiosity, I watched this movie. After the movie ended, I wanted to congratulate
the producer of this movie. He is really brave ….because he had the guts to produce a movie which had a hero who cannot emote very well, a story which is almost non-existent and an amateurish screenplay.

Dushyant and Sonia Agrawal are good friends. But Roja (Dushyant’s sister) comes to a conclusion that they love each other …so she goes to Sonia’s house to fix up their marriage. She gets humiliated for being stupid and returns back.Dushyant decides to take revenge. So, when Sonia and her family were heading to Chennai for her marriage, he gets into the train and decides to tie a “thali” around her neck. But then, he mistakes Nandhana for Sonia and ties it around her neck. As a result, her life is affected because her marriage is stopped...The rest of the story deals with how Dushyant realizes his mistake and how he convinces Nandhana to marry him. Dushyant is able to dance well but then he has to take acting classes so that he can emote better.

The story lacks logic and I wonder how the director was able to convince the producer to make it into a movie. A typical movie with “Thali” sentiments and “Do you know who is a Tamil ponnu(girl)?” dialogues. When there are movies like “Nayagan” and “Kannathil Muthamittal “ which takes the tamil movies to another level, movies like this really makes you wonder where the tamil film industry is heading to? The comedy scenes in this movie are vulgar and cheap. The songs are horrible!

Shivaji Ganeshan was introduced in “Parasakthi” which was revolutionary in the sense that it opposed superstitions and customs. And I am surprised that his grandson was introduced in this movie which had all kinds of sentiments: sister sentiment, thali sentiment etc etc...Weird, rite?

I wonder why they called this movie “Success”. Is it because the producer thought at least the film would be “called “ Success even though it turns out to be a big failure?. Even if you are ready to see any kind of movie, please avoid this movie at any cost…you can save 2.5 hours of your valuable time …and can escape from torture…..
