We bpught thid inverter on 19th June 2005. It conked off in October 2006, well within 18 months.
On complaints to the service centre in Gurgaon made them send a service man who fiddled with some wires inside and claimed that the unit was rectified. The next major inturruption in the mains supply proved that the unit was not working.
Another complaint to the said service centre did not produce any result for a couple of days. On persistent telephone calls, another service man appeared and declared that he was not able to make the unit functional becuase the problem lied in some of the battery cells. He stated that he would ask their battery division to send some one for checking the battery cells.
Nothing happened for some days. Some one then came from the dealer who looked at the battery and declared that the unit had become functional.
The next interruption again proved that the unit was not able to provide the power even to 2-3 lamps for more than a few minutes.
On the next check by yet another service man, we were told that the warranty period for the battery was over. So that was the way to deliberately be indifferent in attending to the complaint, delay rectification and then argue that the warranty period was over!
Our experience with other inverters and batteries is that they go on without any problems for 3 to 4 years.
This itself speaks volumes about the quality of the product as well as the after sales service.
The product is used when there is inturruption in the mains supply, which is not much these days.
