Sterling resorts, Munnar is located about 20 Kms away from Munnar town.
How to reach Sterlings resort, Munnar:
If you are traveling from long distance, arrive at Madurai or Cochin Airport and take a cab from there to the resort. Either way, you would require about 4 hours of travel time.
Travelling from Bangalore, we took the Tuticorin Express from Bangalore to Kodai road.
I had booked for a pickup taxi from Sterling Resorts, Munnar. We were provided with the Drivers Cell number and Vehicle number. The taxi fare too is not so expensive and I found it pretty reasonable.
We had to get off the train at Dindigul, thanks to sudden state-wide bundh called by Tamilnad Govt.
Thanks to this advance booking of taxi and driver / car details provided - we had the cab waiting at Dindigul. After 2 hours journey, we crossed to Kerala border and the scenes started getting more beautiful. An another hour's journey took us to the Sterling resort, Munnar.
*More about the resort:
*Resort is located on a hill and sorrounded by tea estates. Right behind the hotel there is a mountain. Giving a majestic backdrop to the resort.
Resort had a good restuarant, food was good and reasonably priced too. We saw several Club Mahindra residents coming to this restuarnt for breakfast and dinner. Club Mahindra resort is located adjacent to this Sterling resort.
Rooms were spacious and well maintained. We had opted for two adjoining two-bedrooms without kitchen.
It is a great pleasure to walk within the Sterling campus as well as on the main road in front, specially during early morning, with cool breeze and mist, fresh smell of tea leaves. it is notalagic to recall those memorable moments! Incase you would like to cycle - resort has good cycles available for rent.
Indoor games like Bridge / Pool tables, Carrom boards are available.
They have a browsing centre with a single PC and ofcourse Internet connection.

Travel department was very helpful in organising the local trips in Munnar and to Tekkady.
Make time to visit Matupatty dam and enjoy the speed boat ride. Tip the boatman in advance - he will provide those extra boat riding thrills which will make you scream your guts out:)
It takes half a day to visit the tallest mountain in south India - Kollakumallai and the Oldest Tea factory. The road leading to these two places, passes thru one of the worst roads and takes hair rising hair-pin bends. In case you are pregnant and have back ache - STAY AWAY from this place.
The tea manufactured at this oldest tea factory in the region - is too good. You get a detailed guided tour of the factory. Tea products produced here is worth buying for self use and for gifting purpose.
We visited Munnar during first week of April. It was cool most of the day time and pleasantly chilling during night time.
