Yes banking with SBI is safe and secure. but talking about net banking, features they offer are not good compare to other banks.
there is also problem with sms service. lots of time you wont receive sms about money deposite in your account.
Overall Gear secure and very much popular bank of india.
but if you want great banking service go for private bank.
