I purchased my Lenovo G550 laptop from Staples Koramangala stores.
After 2 years there was an issue with Internet connectivity.
I approached BSNL service provider to rectify the issue. They could not resolve.
After much deliberation, I changed the service provider. I subscribed Airtel.
They found that there is some kind of problem with OS but the system was function normal though it had connectivity issue.
I carried my laptop to the Bannergatta Staples. They asked me for a recovery disk.
I realized then that recovery disk is needed. Ideally, the vendor [Staples, Koramangala] should have informed at the time of purchase.
I went to Staples, Koramangala to enquire about the recovery Disk since I purchased the laptop there. Laptop was working fine except connectivity issue.
The technician, Mr. Ravindra told me that he has to check the laptop to suggest me if recovery disk I really needed.
According to Mr. Ravindra, he ran a partition software after which the system didn't boot. [I don't understand why he ran the partioned, was there a real need?]
He said he will install a pirated Windows 7. I insisted not to do that but I want my original Windows Vista.
He said he will do it in 4 hours the same day but nothing happened for next 5 days. Everyday, he said he will give it the same day or next day.
They sent my laptop to Lenovo service center, Airport Road.
After 5 days they handed over the laptop with another version of Windows Vista. Luckly they didn't install pirated. I validated my OS with Microsoft but I wonder how they got it.
I asked the Stores manager Mahesh to give the recovery disk with the cost that I am ready to pay.
He denied to give the recovery disk and more over he wanted to get rid of me ASAP. So he spoke me in a harsh language.
Today, 14 Nov, 2011, I called Lenovo check if they can get me the recovery disk or I can make it myself?
They checked the disk space and hidden disk space, where the OS image is created. The hidden disk space was not enough. They can make the recovery only if the OS is pre-installed from factory.
Tomorrow I am going to Staples Jayanagar, to report this complaint. Will have to wait for their response.
The climax is yet to come.
