I have been going to St.John's hospital for more than 5yrs now for various problems mostly in Orthopedic.
They have very good infrastructure and the rates they charge for availing those are very cheap compared to other hospitals.
Generally doctors won't ask you to take unnecessary scans and medicines, but you should only see doctors from Assistant Professor or higher grades. Avoid Senior residents coz they sometimes have tie up with local medical stores and prescribe medicines which are available only there.
I was once even admitted after a major accident and docs were really friendly and did thorough check ups and surprisingly just coz of my compulsion they asked to take a full body x-ray. they were spot on with their manual inference that there were no fractures or other complications.
Once I have been to skin specialist when I had some allergy due to taking some ayurvedic medicine and that doc was also really good that he diagnosed it really quick.
Other hospitals generally force patients to do kind of tests even if we go with a minor cold, but here they don't ask us to take any tests, instead they diagnose the issue after listening to our explanation of the symptoms we have.
If scans like MRI or CT or even X-ray is needed, they have it within hospital and the charge is very less compared to corresponding charges outside. Only issue might be that we need to make a prior appointment for scans like MRI since dates will be booked atleast 1 week in advance
I always recommend people to go St.Johns once, before they conclude on what to do based on opinions from other hospitals since they generally don't do unnecessary medical procedures.
