Sri is an actress who creates magic on the silver screen. She is not only one of the best dancers Bollywood ever had but one of the finest performer. Keeping away her squeaky voice (only drawback) audience
find her very promising on screen. She can very well act for comic, emotional and romantic scenes. She has great looks and more than that she carries herself very well. Though her earlier movies lacked challenge but after SADMA she was the talk of the town and people knew her worth. When she came in touch with CHOPRA camp, people were heard saying that YASH SAHAB was very much impressed by the gorgeous lady and during the shooting of CHANDNI he made his mind to repeat her in his forth-coming projects. And everyone knows he repeated her in LAMHE.
Lets check out five best movies of this elegant lady.

· SADMA

Sri Devi got the national award for the Tamil Version of this movie. Simply amazing performance by SRI and her co-star KAMAL HAASAN. Sri portrayed the character of a mentally retarded girl. Never before any director thought of a movie based on similar subject. After this movie SRI became the talk of the TINSEL TOWN and she got the recognition. The role was really tough and SRI had to do a lot of homework. Commercially the movie didn’t do well but one and all appreciated SRI’S performance. SRI gave a new definition to acting, each and every frame of the movie reflected acting capabilities of this actress. Though she looked plump in few of the scenes, and there was not much scope for make-up she dealt with the character perfectly.
Recently released BLACK is said to be the finest of socio-commercial movies in the age where we have the best of technical and commercial support. SANJAY was skeptical about the success of his venture therefore he got the mega stars in his movie (BIG B & RANI). But if one observe the scenario that was present during the time when SADMA was released one will feel that no movie can be ever made with the least budget and not so known stars. Sri deserves a loud applause for this movie.

· CHANDNI
· Director: - Yash Chopra
· Year: -
· Genre: - Romantic
What to say about this movie, everyone knows that nobody else could have done justice to this movie. The character of CHANDNI had several shades. In the first half, it was happy, romantic and seductive which turned to gloomy and simple in the second half. There was lot of dancing (in which SRI excels).
Very few people know that SRI had a tragedy while shooting for this movie but it did not bother her and she completed this movie in the best way she could have. A movie that will always be remembered for SRI.

· LAMHE
· Director: - Yash Chopra
· Year: -
· Genre: - Romantic
An unusual love story, wherein the Anil Kapoor, the hero, was in love with the mother of SRI (Sri played the part of mother and daughter). Though YASH CHOPRA tried his level best for the success of the movie with best music, performance and locations but he could not change the fate of the movie at the box-office. And likewise a beautiful script and movie died at the box-office due to INDIAN audience who can’t take any new idea easily. But one and all praised the acting of SRI. It brought SRI back to the main cinema. The variety that Sri brought in the two characters was remarkable. And she looked like an Indian princess in the Rajasthani costumes. She was the soul of the movie and what else to say!!!!!!!!!

· NAGINA
· Director: - Harmesh Malhotra
· Year: -
· Genre: - Romantic cum mystery
Another unusual story well received by the audience all over. Story of a snake lady (ICHHADHARI NAAG) soul of whose husband is put in the body of another being by an exorcist. A movie which really established SRI as an actor with substance. Though the movie dealt with a subject that was new but due to the new treatment and visualisation movie was a great hit then. Sri looked awesome and her dance was appreciated all over. Her performance was another positive factor responsible for the movie to hit the bull’s eye. Hit music and picturisation took movie to the epitome of success. Though no high funda effects were used, even then the movie was the biggest money grosser then.
5th rank
· CHALBAAZ
· Director: -
· Year: -
· Genre: - Romantic
A movie that is said to be the remake of SITA AND GITA (Hema Malini). Sri played the role of two identical twins. She was just perfect in the portrayal of the two entirely different characters. One was sober, dumb, quite while other was tricky out spoken and fun loving. And no wonder she was awarded FILMFARE for her performance in this movie. If HEMA MALINI left audience dumbfound, it was SRI who redefined the whole scenario of double role. What else to say she was just superb in her portrayal of two entirely different characters in this movie.
